Squadron 42 Steam Wishlist — How to Follow the Game

Adding Squadron 42 to your Steam wishlist is the simplest way to stay informed about the game launch. The official Steam store page is live at store.steampowered.com/app/4045720 with a Q2 2027 release window listed. Wishlisting takes one click and costs nothing.

How to Wishlist Squadron 42

1. Go to the official Steam store page: store.steampowered.com/app/4045720
2. Sign in to your Steam account (or create a free one if you do not have an account)
3. Click the green Add to Wishlist button on the store page
4. You will now receive Steam notifications when the game becomes available for pre-purchase or purchase, when the price is announced, and when it launches

That is it. No payment is required, and you can remove it from your wishlist at any time.

What Wishlist Notifications You Get

When you wishlist a game on Steam, Valve sends you notifications for several events:

• Available for purchase: When Squadron 42 goes live for pre-purchase or launches, you will receive a Steam notification and an email (if enabled)
• Price announcements: When the launch price is revealed, wishlist followers are typically notified
• Discount events: If the game goes on sale after launch, wishlist followers receive sale notifications
• Major updates: Some developers send announcements to wishlist followers about significant news

For Squadron 42 specifically, the most important notification will be when the game becomes available for purchase ahead of or during the Q2 2027 window.

Why Wishlisting Matters Beyond Notifications

Steam wishlists serve as a signal of market interest. A high wishlist count before launch helps a game gain visibility in Steam discovery queues and Popular Upcoming lists. For a game like Squadron 42 that has been in development for over a decade, wishlist numbers also serve as a community metric that CIG can point to when demonstrating player interest.

Wishlisting is free and carries no obligation to purchase. If you are simply curious about the game progress and want to be notified when it launches, wishlisting is the lowest-effort option available.

What Happens at Launch

When Squadron 42 launches, wishlisting converts directly into purchasing convenience: the Steam client notifies wishlisted users the moment the game becomes available, and the store page — already live — becomes the purchase point. The game's App ID is 4045720, and the page confirms Windows-only availability with a Q2 2027 planned release. Wishlisting also feeds Steam's visibility systems: games with strong wishlist counts receive more prominent placement at launch, which is why CIG has promoted the wishlist alongside every trailer since the page went live.
